This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Soooooo, anyone know how Solaris 10 compares to linux :D ?
    Will it install on laptops with NVIDIA graphics cards ?
    Will it be able to play avi files ?
    Where does obtain one software for it ?

    fyi, Sun made pretty much all of their software free to download last year sometime. That includes their development tools as well as Solaris...it's a GREAT deal.

    I have been planning on getting off the MS endless upgrade wheel for development tools and am intending to switch from .net stuff to JSP this year sometime.
