I'm using Mint x64 gnome right now, and conky always comes up at boot, but sometimes dies out unexpectedly. it can be relaunced easy. it's not running in system monitor when it dies so it's not a display problem. Don't know if this is a 64 bit problem. I've never had it happen in 32 bit whatever.

Anyway to respawn this sucker, automagically? :D

I had occasional problems way back when when starting up compiz at boot, incuding weird things with conky, not sure if that is related or not.

I've never had conky intermittedly die out on me before.

I didn't have the problem in Mint Xfce 32, just 64 bit gnome...I'm googling it also and see what I'll find....then post it here for the archives :D

I added Load "dbe" to Xorg.conf under "modules" for double buffering and it hasn't died yet after 3 hours.

    the above fixed it.
