This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Just in case anybody else is interested in purchasing such laptop, I managed to get Ubuntu 6.10 running first time without any problems.

    WiFi works out of the box (all you have to do is enable the connection in the network admin tool and enter your SSID and passwords) as does power management - which actually gives me more information about my remaining battery life than Windows did.

    That's great. I haven't found a major device that Ubuntu cannot recognize at once!
