I just installed Debian Lenny kernel version 2.6.26-2-amd64 on my XPS m1210 and i cant seem to get my wireless to work. I have tried Ndiswrapper and fwcutter and Debians GUI program "Windows Wireless Drivers." It says that the drivers are installed but there is nothing that shows me available wireless networks.

    lspci shows a Broadcom BCM4328 a/b/g/n card

and i have tried to follow these guides with no luck:
    http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=26883
    and
    http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=7949

I know the second one is old but i was hoping for some luck. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest with you, I never was able to get that card to work well when I had a E1705. I spend countless hours, and at 1 point, I got it to work but after a couple of hours it would stop to respond. I finally just went and bought the intel version of the card of ebay for 20 bucks and never had issue later. I know thats not a solution but thats what I did. Have you tried the Ubuntu forums? I am sure the steps found there will probably work. Like I said before I did get the card to work but it was not stable after a couple of hours.

thanks i have gotten it to work on Ubuntu and Linux mint before, although they made it easy with the "Hardware Drivers" utility and once with ndiswrapper but i cant remember where that guide was that i followed. Ill try the Ubuntu forums, thanks.

ok i got my wireless to work by blacklisting b44 but now my ethernet will not work. When i run lshw -C Network it says that my ethernet is UNCLAIMED. if i unblacklist b44 ethernet works and wireless doesnt. My result from lshw with b44 unblacklisted is below:
    Code:
    *-network
           description: Network controller

My card won't work with that kernel stock in Lenny. I would have had to recompile a kernel, and if I was going to do that, I'd just use Slackware anyway.
