    Can't connect to internet in Ubuntu

    Well the title says it I have tryed the atomatic I have done the whole manule IP, Gatway but to no avail.

    Can anyone help?

    I am booting from a CD.

    2. You have to provide a LOT more information...

    Such as:
    Are you trying LAN or Wireless?
    What hardware? As some hardware (such as broadcom stuff) isn't OSS friendly (for broadcom you need to strip out the driver firmware from a Windows driver then mix it with ndiswrapper and blah blah blah).

    Without extra details you'll be sitting in the dark for a long time ;)

    You have to use the network manager to to enable the wireless connection.

    If your wireless card is an intel, it should enable the drivers automatically.

    I have tried using the network manager and manually connecting through entering the IP,Gateway of my router but still nothing.

    Have you tried the restricted drivers manager? I don't remember having to use it to enable my intel card, but I did use it to enable the broadcom card on my Gateway laptop.
