well im back into ubuntu (using 6.10 edgy right now)..after years of being a pc gamer...im slowly giving up games and moving to more productive things (i will still play CSS).

now, im using an asus z70va, and everything seems to be working just fine (using gnome by default), got wireless to work via knetworkmanager, envy for my much needed ati drivers, BUT the one thing i cannot fix no matter what i do....

how can i turn of touch to click..i can be writing something in open office, and my thumb will touch the trackpad, select everything, and i continue typing and everything gets deleted...

i have read some different things in LQ.com and the ubuntu forums, adding things into my xorg files, etc...nothing has worked thus far...i can pinpoint what i have tried and failed with, but i am at work..everything is at home..

    so yea, thanks in advance.

I installed gsynaptics, myself. You can enable/disable touchpad through that.

    sudo apt-get install gsynaptics

Then find the settings in System>Preferences>Touchpad

As an aside, to restart X, you just hit ctrl+alt+backspace.

Just make sure you aren't running anything you want to save, because it kills all displaying programs immediately ;)
