    Hi,

I'm running ubuntu gutsy 64 (but tried on ubuntu 32 too) and after installing the drivers (manually, using envy or synatpics), the FPS showed when running glxgears don't get higher than 5000fps (where they should be 10 000 at least which such a card). Is anybody else experiencing the same thing? How can i fix this problem et get the max performance of my GC?

    thx in advance.

If you are running compbiz it will reduce your scores. You might want to check that. Just turn it off and run the test again. I have 7600 go and get 2500 with compbiz on and 9000is when it is turned off.

What version number of the Nvidia driver are you using? Maybe it needs to be updated? I know there was a release in the last 2 weeks. I haven't updated to it but maybe it will address something under 64bit. The 8600 should get better than I do with 7600. Do you have something else running in the background maybe?

Right now (i tried several drivers and ways of installation) it's a linux_x86_64 driver, version 169.07 which was installed using Envy (and seems to be the latest one on Nvidia's website). Nothing else is running in the background....
Maybe waiting for another driver update should be the solution, because a friend of mine, is having the same "trouble" on his laptop (we both have an Asus F3series notebook).

yah, i have the same results as you (i get about 6418fps). I have the latest driver installed by envy (manually installing the drivers doesnt seem to be working anymore, so i had to use envy)

i cannot even play counterstrike under linux anymore, i was able to under fedora 7 but not under 7.10. I tried, but it was terrible...

i think we just have to wait for a new driver that supports ubuntu 7.10 better because it was working great for fedora 7...
