    is it possible through a emulator ? can any one try ? i would love to see 3dmark 06 in linux to compare. Thanks for any help.

    No, it's not possible through virtualization because the GPU is not perfectly transferred to the client system. And I doubt wine will do the trick because 3DMark06 uses a ton of D3D from what I understand. It might be possible, but serious hackery will be required. In any case, I don't really see how a 3DMark score for linux will be very significant. 3DMark is used to test a machine's gaming ability, something that linux is not known for. Linux GPU modules seem to be more optimized for CAD applications, if there's any optimization at all.

    hard to use high end gpus in linux.

    Actually, its really easy :)

    My old GTX260 216 SLI setup ran really nicely on Linux.

    Didnt you faced any hassle while gaming? As most of the games doesnot support Linux

    I used Wine & HL2. The only problem was Compiz would react badly while gaming, so I had to shut it down to play.

    WINE is not an emulator. ;) Anyway, I heard of 3DMark06 running in WINE through some DirectX patch, but I'm not sure.
