I recently installed screenlets manager and was able to access it only through the terminal. Why is that it doesn't show in >system>preference>appearance? Is that because I didn't install it via the sources.list and used the terminal to install it? :(

i don't think it would matter how you installed it. i haven't used screenlets manager, but i would think that it's just another program and wouldn't show itself in "appearance". have you check to see if it's under "accessories" or under "preferences"?

I think it's under Applications > Assesories or else where in the Applications menu.

Yes, it's in the >Application>Accessories?Screenlets manager. But in some websites, they'd say it would appear in >system>preference>appearance. Why is that so?

I have another really big problem, I just fully customised by desktop by tediously putting screenlets and aligning them my desired areas. This includes checking the lock to deskptop, lock to screen, etc. It took more an hour to do all these but when I restarted my pc, ALL THE SCREENLETS I DID WERE GONE :'(... PLS help me....

use the command that you used to start the application in terminal... copy that command, then go to system->preferences->startup applications... click 'add' then paste the command
