i will add my experience about upgrade my LG S1 laptop from T2500(2.0GHZ) to T7600(2.33GHZ)
the problem was in overheat and shutting down because i forget to add some thermal paste between the T7600 and the heatsink, so i open it again and put some white thermal paste the temp. down very much about 4 degree on full load and not coming overheat ANY MORE so, ( not safe to install laptop cpu without thermal paste)
NOW: on idle the temp. 50-55 degree on full load the temp. 72-84 degree:)

Second i install 4GB ram (667) the bios just see 3.2GB ram ((bios rkywsf33 19/9/2007)) NO NEW LG S1 UPDATE BIOS

Third i upgrade the Fujitsu 100GB hdd to seagate 250GB-7200rpm-16MB cashe

    Now LG S1
oparating system windows 7 (32)bit subscore:
    cpu-T7600 2.33GHZ.................................5.7
    ram-4GB (3.2GB USABLE).............................5.7
    ATI Mobiltiy Radeon™ X1600(256ram)............4.9
    gaming graphics.........................................4.6
    primary HDD..............................................5.9

This is because you need a 64-bit operating system.

That’s cool... mine stock except upgrading the Ram from 1GB to 2.5GB ….

Still happy with the purchase :)

I was at LG service department the other day and they told me that Bios on S1 will see full 4GB but windows (32bit) will only use up to 3.2GB unless it was 64bit then it will see all the 4GB….
I know there was a bioss update cuz I remember updating it a year ago… next restart I’ll try to post the version I’m using…

sorry, but even if you find a bios update, i don't think that'll solve the problem. 32 bit windows is unable to address 4 gigs of ram, regardless if it shows it or not.

    1. Where did you get the New CPU from ?
    2. Can you benchmark the new performance ?
    3. Is it possible to upgrade the Graphic Card ? (I think X1900 Mobility is our only possibility due to PCI Express Ver 1.0 us)

    BTW,
Note that you need to add another 256MB to your actually reported RAM since the Graphic Card takes 256MB from the Main Memory.

I should have demanded a MB upgrade from LG, when they charged me 400$ for a MB repair (which was their fault in the first place).

    thanks...

but I seem to be missing a USB driver (I have nothing connected)...
    any clue?
