    Hi!
A week ago my dvdburner that came with the computer (don't know the brand or model) dissappeared from windows, i can't find it anywhere. It doesn't appear in the BIOS either (don't know if it should?) but the secondary ide is set to autodetect and it doesn't detect anything, and if i change it to cd/dvd instead of auto it says: "secondary ide not atapi compatible" when i boot. I can open and close it, when i insert a disc it starts reading it and the lamp starts blinking, and the orange one over the keyboard is also blinking but i can't reach it. I'm using windows vista and i tried to boot from the installation disc but that doesn't work either, i press F11 at start and i can only chose to boot from the hard drive or from a network. I've lost my LG intelligent update disc with all the original drivers and since i don't know the brand it's kind of hard to download new ones....
    Anyone got any bright ideas?
    The model is KS-2ATNV3...

Here's a long thread about similar problems.

I would start with this Microsoft KB article about the UpperFilter and LowerFilter.

You can then try ininstalling the IDE channel so that it will redetect whatever is connected.
