I recently had to refomat my LG LW65. Since then batterymiser 2005 ver2.33 (which is the version on my LG disk) doesn't pick up that I have a battery and I have noticed that I no longer have control over the fans. I am receiving error message: Brightness Table Reading Error, Please update Embedded-Controller firmware in the computer to latest version. I don't know what this means  and am worrying about how hot my laptop feels now. Has anyone got any suggestions on what I should do?

    Thanks

If you're still on Windows XP, just install your original LG Intelligent Update disk and make all updates available. Everything should work.

I have reinstalled intelligent update and nothing has changed. Not sure what else to try. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Mmmmm... And you still get those error messages? When you click on your fan button, does On Screen Display show you what mode it is now on?

I think you better contact LG with this one...
