^ I used to be able to find refurbished P300's pretty often on eBay but I haven't seen one in months. There are a few P310's but they only have a 9300m GS :/ Anyone know where I can get a P300 to the states?

How does it handle games for you, specifically games using the Unreal 3 Engine (I believe Assassins Creed, Gears of War, Unreal 3, etc.) and modern games like Call of Duty 4 and Far Cry 2?

The 9300 is actually a pretty good card. It can run games pretty good at 1280 x 800(the screens res) Still the 8600 will be better in most games. But with all the new drivers coming out for these 9000 cards i wont be surprised to see real high scores sooner then later.

Hmmm, well I guess I'll keep my eyes out, currently trying to find N10J, P300, P310, and SL300. Asus, LG, LG, Lenovo

The N10J is a good netbook if you're looking for bang for the buck the P300 will probably be the way to go :D

Yeah I'm trying very hard to find one, I'm selling a G50VT-X1 right now and in that thread someone asked about how much cash I'd add for a P300 but someone else offered the guy straight up cash so I don't think I am going to get it :/ .

Oh well, first and foremost I need to get the Asus sold and then I can fully dive into my search.

Oh you don't like the G50? I guess it because of the screen huh? Either way ive used a P300 in real world and it has one the best screens ive ever seen great viewing angles and everything.

MSI has some pretty good offerings now though have you considered them?

It is huge and to me ugly. It is thick, bulky, cheap, and plasticy (in my opinion.) I don't like all the blue lights and the screen (both resolution and quality) are below average. While I do like that it is powerful everything else outweighs the fact it has a 9800m GS.

And actually before this I had a MSI 1651 which I really liked in terms of aesthetics but the 9600m GT GDDR3 just wasn't enough and I felt it was a crime that the the laptop was not able to run games on it's beautiful screen at 1680 x 1050.

If a 9600m GT LG P310 could be had for under $1k I would get it in a heartbeat but I doubt that will ever happen. Pretty much this is my current order of what I want.... LG P310 < $1,000 LG P300 <$850 ASUS N10J < $600.

Don't really want to go with the Lenovo SL300, had a terrible experience when I bought a T61P plus I think the SL300 is a bit heavy and thick.

Plus the SL300 build is less then stellar compared to the others in the Lenovo line.

Did you consider the new MSI GT627 and the too be released soon GT628?

Don't think I will be able to afford either of those, if I were to get anything in the 15.4" size I wouldn't want to spend any more than $700-$800.

Hmm yeah didn't see anything with a particularly snazzy graphics card however if I can get my G50VT-X1 sold soon I have a chance at a P300, really hope that sells

Prices are a lot better there but honestly I think if I were to get a 15" it'd have to have a resolution of 1440 x 900 (or better) and a graphics card that could play games at that resolution on highest settings (8800 or better) I've had:
Compal IFL90, TX2500z, XPS m1210, 7811 FX, 1651, G50VT-X1, the m1210 was really something but I was disappointed when I couldn't seem to play TF2 at any sort of decent settings...

With all of that said though if I want to give a 15" a try (for cheap) I'd would probably use eBay and use M$ cashback to get a M1530 with blu-ray and 8600 for around $600

So why don't you use Microsoft cashback on whatever you are looking at?

M1210 was a good notebook for its time its too bad that they never brought back a 12" XPS based notebook....

Because P300's aren't on eBay :( P310's only have 9300m GS :( I can get an okay deal on a N10J but would rather have a P300 but not sure if it is worth the huge price difference.

Yeah I had the XPS m1210 a year ago and it was a fun laptop even then.

Too bad there aren't dual core Atom netbooks with Ion out now, that'd be perfect

I play Crysis at low settings with 30 fps. Far Cry 2 at around 25, but while crysis is steady FC sometimes drops to 15.

Source game will run VERY WELL they are optimized for both low end and high end notebooks. COD4 will have some trouble though.

Have you see the all new INTEL ULV processors coming out soon? Why not wait for that?

The P300 runs CoD4 on med settings. Also newer processors make no difference if the GPU sucks. Not like if it is a new architecture either.

p.s. The LGs don't use ULVs anyway.
