I’ve installed vista ultimate on my S1 and I’ve noticed that the fan started to spin more often and faster meaning my laptop was more annoying because of the fan noise. Now am back to basics XP. And now am trying to find a way to fix this problem. Are you guys with Vista have the same problem did u notice the fans run more often with faster speed. My temp raised 38c idle on XP to 50c idle on Vista full load some where around 72c. With no changes in hardware.

31337, I have noticed it too, but it doesn't spin that too much.
Vista uses lot more resources even on idle.

Why don't you try silent mode?
    What mode are you using?
Cool mode is very loud but normal mode is OK even if it runs all the time. Silent mode even better.
Maybe you fan works more because of summer.
