Hi, Im soon to be getting a LM40 mainly in part from learning about LG firstly from this forum. I was wondering would I be able to upgrade the ATI Radeon 9200 32MB to the ATI Radeon 9600 64MB or any better video card later?
And concerning another non related question (might as well =D), I was told I could upgrade the ram but to make sure it fits. Does this mean there are different types of 512 DDR 333MHZ chips I have to be aware of?

Ram isn't a problem to upgrade, i don't know about diffrent sizes of ram but it's pretty easy to tell what you need by looking at the stick of ram you already have...

As for the video card, I doubt you can upgrade it later. I would get it with the 9600 if I were you, then you won't have to worry about it

Yea, unfortunetely there are a limited amount of models that I've seen that have a 64mb videocard and if they do possess a 64mb videocard then they are about $1000 more expensive. Perhaps only select LM50 have the 64mb video card. If only LG made availiable more customizable options and the ability to purchase direct from the manufacturer.

RAM is totally different than video ram, the video card's ram is not upgradeable. The 32mb radeon 9200 is still much, much better than the integrated graphics. If you want bigger video you will have to look elsewhere, Dell and Sager both sell 256mb laptops.
