I came into a laptop for a good price that, my uncle decided to travel with by sticking it in his suite case. Didn't work so well for him. LG T1-7001A9:

The mother board is still good but the hard drive is toasted, the original is a Hitachi 1.8" 60g hard drive (HTC426060G8CE00):

Can I upgrade this computer to a toshiba 100GB (MK1011GAH) 4200rpm 8MB ZIF Notebook Hard Drive (1.8 inch):

    Without having any problems??

Someone must be able to tell me if this will work, I can't see it not working but I want to make sure before I order a drive off of the net. LG is not getting back to me, they keep telling me they will answer my questions in an email b/c the help line does not know, I'm still waiting on that email but not holding my breath.

Should work just fine... just be very careful when installing and MAKE SURE you unlatch and latch the ZIF connector on the drives properly. It's a little flip-up 'bar' on top of the connector much like the one on the keyboard connector but smaller.

I trashed the flexi-cable on my A1 as it wasn't 'secure' and I thought it wasn't in far enough. Turns out I hadn't 'locked' it down so to speak.

If you can get by on 32gb, you might consider an SSD. VAST improvement on speed.

If you have any clue please let me know.
