    Two negative things about my P1

    Hello again. There are 2 things that really annoy me about the P1 and I want to know if you have the same issues.
    1st is the light leakage in the lower corners.
    2nd the really loud noise comming from the Fujitsu hard disk (100Gb).

    Haven't noticed any light leakage myself, though one of the lower corners is slightly dim (it doesn't bug me enough to send the laptop back for a replacement, even though I suppose it could be covered under warranty). As for the hard drive noise, mine's been very quiet. Even in a fairly silent room I can only just make out the usual clicks made during data access. I've got a Fujitsu MHV2100BH 100GB drive, probably the same model as yours.

    You're right it's the same hard disk. In a silent room, the spinning noise is loud and even if I don't touch anything I can still hear the seek noise.
    Both lower corners are dim (half an inch maybe in each corner) and near that the light leakage is visible - mostly on a blue background (and not on black). So much for the well known great LG screens (I thought I was alone in this).

    i got a p1 as well.. got mine when they first came out.. i don't have a noisey hdd, but my lcd has some leakage issues... not really near the edges or anything.. but in random spots on the lcd i get these faint white circle spots in the background, if i push on the back of the display, the circles become brighter... wtf... i have only had this unit since April...

    Yes, the Fujitsu is very noisy... so noisy that it's almost impossible to use the built in micro to record anything... Stupid LG making the micro so close to the hdd... (in the LG S1, don't know about P1, but I think it's the same)

    My P1 has the dimmed corners as well but i've tried a few different laptops and the pros of this one out weigh its cons more than all the other ones i've tried so i kept it. I have the same HD but it's not that loud, i even sleep with it on sometimes and i'm sensitive to noise. It's too bad about the screen though :(
