    The bad service of LG for notebooks !

    I bought the computer at 9/28/04 from a big market for computers, the name is "Bug Computers". They told me that the computer will come to the shop from the importer of LG (Hy group) in Israel, after two days from the order. after 4 days and 5 days I called to the shop and they always told me that the problem is in the importer of LG (Hy group) . i called to the Hy group, and they always told me that soon , and another day soon … till the computer came after one week (10/5/04) in the evening .
    At the beginning it was nice to get the notebook although it was with some angers for the delay. after I came home I saw that one speaker didn't work , after some hours, I was electrified from touching the side of the computer ( near the USB outputs and when I touched the black panel on the sided of the screen ( I think that it was at least 12 V) , and after one day when I connect the computer (notebook) to the socket and tried to connect a cable of usb from the modem of the cables to the notebook ( I have an old computer from two years ago which was connect to the same cable to the modem of the cables and the same computer was connect to the same socket ).
    When I tried to put the cable to the USB of the notebook, there was a spark which went out from the USB of the notebook and the grid of my house went down.
    From the spark, there was a little weld from the cable to the USB cable, after moved the cable to two directions it was out .
    I went immediately to the shop and they told me that if they will send the computer to the place were the importer exist , it will took some days , so I decided to go there by myself ( I live far from the place of the importer lab service).
    I went in 10/13/04 to the importer , the technical guys start to check the computer and later they send me to "Mr. Ofer Greenberg - Notebook Product Manager of Hy group)" and he told me that maybe my grid is not ok or maybe my cable modem is not ok , and I told him that I live in my house from the day I born ,for 28 years, and I could invite some electric guy to my house to check the grid , but he didn't care , he asked one of his technician about the problem and the technicians said to him that the possibility that my grid caused the problem or my modem caused the problem is an option but he can't prove that the problem from the notebook is from outside . and later Mr. Ofer Greenberg told me that some board inside the notebook is not ok and maybe because of that one speaker is not ok , and he think that all the problem is because of me . And he told me that he will invite the parts and if the price is less than 100 $ he will pay all damage but if the price is more high, I will participate with the fixing of the notebook (pay too).
    We where argue and later he told me that if I don't want what he told me, we could go to a courthouse and talk from there.
    In the shop where I bought the computer , they told me that it is not ok what the importer of LG told me , they tried to talked with Hy group but without succeed, and at this situation LG should have to switch the computer ( I know that in Israel , there is some law which tell "after 14 days from the obtaining a product , the costumer could return the product and get his money back" .
    But I just want a new notebook , as I wanted because of my big pay for the new LM50a , I just want that Hy group will switch the notebook , and don't fixed it because it will be like to buy a renovated notebook , and renovated notebook is more cheep than new notebook.
    at 10/29/04 I still waited for the parts , and when I called to Hy group or send mail , they told me that soon the parts will arrive ( after I was there they told me that maybe after two weeks the parts will come) last time was two days ago. by the way when I came back from Hy group , I saw that I have some problem with the battery ( the battery don't load till 100% , only till 98 % ) before I came to there the battery didn't had problem like that.
    Some friends of my asked me why I didn't bought a real IBM like some ot them and instead the LG notebook.
    at 11-16-04 i gave to Lg my notebook to fix it and at 11-17-04 they told me that i have to pay more than 200 $ to fix the notebook because they think that i done the problems to the notebook , altough they can't proove it.
    I thought that LG is a good company. For example, I have a big screen for my old computer and he is vary good.
    By the way I have computers for 20 years, I always switch a computer after 2-4 years and I didn't have problems like this.[ :(]

    Hi,

    I dont want to be hard on you but I do deal with a lot of cases like this at work. Being part of the customer service from the retailer side.

    Of course the motto is the customer is always right.
    But truth be told I agree with the service guys, it sounds like you shorted out your laptop.

    In my experience with most companies I deal with.They have pride in their product and company and if it is defective they will fix it
    (given two to three weeks of course[ ;)])

    They stick to their rules and regulations though. They cant bend over backwards for everyone.

    Im not just sticking up for LG either, I have a customer going through the same thing you are with their Sony laptop.
