    Hi, Guy,

This is milestonepc.com, we will start shipping LG notebooks in USA in about 10 days from now on, that means early July.

Because these notebooks are from Canada, it might need longer time than our Asus product line to arrive your door, it might be upto 10 days form the time you order.

We only want to start from Duo core models on our list, of course will also ship older models on demand, but maybe will not list on our website. Here will be the current core duo models we can supply:

    LG-M1-J001A9 LG M1-J002A9 DUO 1.83,80GB,1G,
    LG-P1-J001A9 LG P1-J001A9 DUO 1.66,80,
    LG-P1-P200A9 LG P1-P200A9 DUO2.0 80,1GB
    LG-P1-5001A9 LG P1-5002A9 DUO 1.83,100GB,
    LG-P1-5002A9 LG P1-5002A9 DUO 1.83,100GB,
    LG-S1-M001A9 LG S1-M001A9 DUO 2.16,100,2G,
    LG-S1-P400A9 LG S1-P400A9 DUO 2.0 80,1G
    LG-T1-5316A9 LG;T1-5316A9 T2300 1.66,60G,1G
    LG-T1-7001A9 LG T1-7002A9 DUO 1.83,60GB,1GB

One thing I want to clarify though, about the warranty:
LG offers 3 year international traveler warranty. The first year is true global, anywhere in the world, as long as LG has branch there, warranty will be offered.
The other 2 year warranty is just international traveler warranty, because these notebooks are from LG Canada, LG supposes the users are Canadians, if a user travels to USA and the notebook dead there, LG USA will cover it. If a user is US resident and not a Canadian traveler to USA, LG will let the user deal the warranty with LG Canada.
LG notebook warranty is from LG, not from MilestonePC.com, if you don't want to handle the 2nd and 3rd year warranty work with LG Canada and want us to serve as an agent to deal with LG Canada, we offer this service at US$99, but you need to choose this option when you purchase, otherwise you need to deal with LG by yourself.

Having put LG notebook products aside for a while, now we are back, we will update our website on all these models today and tomorrow.

If you guys have any enquiry to us, plaese ask here or send us an e-mail, thank you for your support and hope milestonePC.com and LG notebook products bring you a pleasant experience.

Sounds great! It's always good to have more choices, and I know I've seen multiple topics about getting LG notebooks in the U.S. so you're definitely going to make someone very happy.

Do you sell the LG TX Express?

Also, to what extent are the T1 configurations changeable? e.g. I might want a larger hard disk.

    Thanks!

I have to say that I'm glad to finally see a company that'll ship LG laptops to the US. I'd like to see you offer a wider variety of LG models though. LG has some very nice models that don't appear on your web site. Good luck with your business!

I was looking at the US site. Do the prices include tax because u say if we aren't Cali res then we don't have to pay taxes however comparing the prices of the s1 p400A9 it looks like we are being charged more here. 2300 US vs 2350 can am I missing something does one price include tax and the other not?

i emailed milestonepc about the prices and got the answer that the prices would be updated a few days ago....it seems they just knocked about 50 dollars off the us ones to make the conversion seem right. but youre right, us buyers would pay more than canadian buyers.
now i have to look for another laptop.

If you don't live in California, then no tax.

The LG notebooks in Canada has lower cost, the cost here are higher, because of more shipping involved, and you should know the rental & salary in Silicon Valley are not cheap, right?

thanks milestone. I just wanted to clarify if it was other costs that were raising the price or if it was a tax issue. Still seems like one of the best deals for purchasing in the US as dysentium(?) charges about 50%!!! more

The easy way will be you pay the tax and you claim it back at the border, it is hard for us to convince the goverment on a local sale with no tax charged has no trick involved.

Thanks, Milestone. What about the other models listed, LG-T1-7001A9 and LG T1-7002A9?
And does LG-T1 has media controls, "Stop", "Play" etc, as "Fn+something"?
I appreciate your prompt answers. Its very possilbe that I'll become your customer, since I'm looking for something thin and light, but stylish.

LG-T1-7001A9 is also WXGA+, the only difference between this and 5316A9 is T2400 vs T2300.

I don't see LG-T1-7002A9 on our supply list.

For the buttons, I need to check.

These are the Fn special functions on the LG T1 (Esc, F1-F12, Home, End):

    Esc: Eject CD Tray
    F1: Start Calculator (Configurable)
    F2: Display Zooming (Configurable)
    F3: Toggle XTS Pro (Configurable)
    F4: Standby
    F5: Toggle Touchpad
    F6: Toggle Wireless
    F7: Toggle External Display
    F8: Cycle Power Scheme
    F9: Mute volume
    F10: System info
    F11: Cycle Cooling mode
    F12: Hibernate
    Home: Increase Backlight
    End: Decrease Backlight

    Additional buttons:
Direct media (Starts DVD-playing program etc.)
    Volume up
    Volume down
    Toggle SRS Surround

There are no Play/Stop buttons. Personally I don't find that to be a big deal, I have simply configured my music player to globally recognize the hotkeys Win+Z,X,C,V to fill this function.
F1-F3 can be configured to execute any program you like, using the program LG provides.
Direct Media, SRS are completely useless in my opinion, and I don't understand why they are there and hardcoded to those functions. Who uses 3D sound effects anyway, when the speakers are so poor? The sound is also pretty bad in headphones, there's a lot of interference and static. This isn't really a good multimedia laptop...

Some other descriptions of the T1 have it with either the L2300 or the L2400 Core Duo. I understand that these are 1.5G and 1.66G low voltage CPUs. Do you have those models, or only the full voltage (T2300/2400) CPUs? I'm interested in the low voltage CPU for battery life reasons.

    Thanks

    hi there
i just paid for an asus laptop on your milestonepc site. I wanted to contact you guys but you got no phone number?
I mean, I can always try to use email... but why not phone number? it's not like it's expensive to have one these days

btw, how long do you take from the moment a customer pay until you actually ship the asus laptop out?

    Regards

That's pretty risky considering that US residents only get a 1 year warranty as opposed to 3 years. I guess it's the price you pay for getting imported notebooks.....

Now, we start shipping LG notebooks in US, but only method of payment at this moment is through Paypal or bank wire transfer, if you do not have a paypal account, it only take a few minutes to open one. The notebook may take 7-10 days to arrive your door.

Right now we only have 510 area code phone in US, we will have toll free number up soon.

For Asus models, it will take 1-3 days to ship out depends on the availability and how heavy you customize it. For LG models, it might take longer because we may need to ship from Canada, but still you should receive it in 7-10 days after you place the order.

They come with 128M dedicated video memory

It still has 3 year warranty, just the 2nd and 3rd year with LG Canada instaed of global.

For buyers, there is not really difference to pay us or paypal, both paypal and milestonepc.com charge your money from credit card, when you check out, there are 3 payment options now, when you click paypal, it will link you to paypal website and process your payment, after done, it will redirect you back to our site to confirm, the same thing on your side, just one more step to login to paypal.

I have just purchased the S1-M001A9 from MilestonePC.com, which now has a branch in California. Milestone offers the 2nd and 3rd year of warranty through their company so you don't have to deal with LG Canada. This was a major selling point, as I didn't want to deal with a warranty office located outside the country. The laptop should be delivered next week.

Will do. Unfortunately, I won't be receiving it for at least a couple of weeks. I received a telephone call from a Milestone rep (nice guy) advising that they won't be able to process credit card transactions for another couple of weeks, but I could pay by PayPal. I told him that I would prefer not to pay by PayPal and they could just hold the order as pending until they can process my credit card info. He said no problem. I anticipate getting it in the first or second week in August.

Actually our merchant account is ready now, no problem for credit card charge, because the model you ordered is so new, the supply is very limited, I am still waiting for the shipment, LG Canada has no stock now, should be there in late July. I am lining up there.
