2 weeks ago my LS50 suddenly died while I was in the middle of cruising the internet. I tried to restart it by pressing the power button, I did not come on. I checked all the connections (AC Adapter, Battery) and tried again, NOTHING! I contacted LG and I sent it to them via courier to get it fixed. I get it back and it worked, however, they did not tell me what was wrong with it. I sent them an email and they returned it saying that there was nothing wrong with it, they plugged it in and it worked. So today, just before I was ready to head off to work, I turned it on to check a few things. Just as it started to do its "thing" it shut off! I checked all the connections again and found nothing. I called LG again, and got the run around. They only have 2 techs working there and the only way to get a hold of them is to leave a message!!! The last time I left a message no one called me back. Long story short, I NEED MY LAPTOP TO BE FIXED!!! Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening? Is there anything I could check?

So I shook it a bit and it started to work, however, I still am going to send it to LG and get them to thoroughly look it over.

If you shook it and it started to work, it sounds like there is a loose connection or somthing like that.

Take it to a local laptop repair shop (or at least someone with laptop experience), they might be able to find and fix the problem.

I sent it to LG. As it started to work there was a distinct smell of burning plastic :S

I got a call from the Tech and he tells me that nothings wrong with it!!?!?! Well it better now happen again, if it does I want a brand spanking new one, not a refurb.

I'm now waiting to get it back. I need to call them again tomorrow because I have been waiting a week this time, and I'm getting kinda nervous.

It sounds like you ram is loose. Unscrew the panel on the base and reseat your ram chips. Pull the clips apart at the same time. Then slide the chip out, blow on the contacts and the contacts in the bay. Then put them back in. Your system should then boot normally.

So I got the computer back on Friday, December 23, 2005 and it hasn't done it YET. Now I have a new problem. My USB mouse doesn't work in any of the USB ports!!! I know it's not the mouse because I tried it on another computer and I also tried a normal optical mouse for the PC and it still doesn't work. I have been trying once again to get a hold of the techs at LG without success.

    UPDATE

Instead of sending it to LG, I decided to send it to a repair place here in town. I have been waiting over 2 weeks for a phone call but nothing, so I called them today. Turns out that he had to order a new motherboard. I'm so freakin' ticked because I have only had the thing for less than a year.
