Should I buy an LM 40 now?

I found a good deal (or actually, I was given a link to a good deal) for the LG XNote LM40 for $1688 CDN. The retail price (or so it says on the site) is $2799 (CDN also). I know this is an older model, but it has exactly what I need. Long battery life, 14", light & portable (under 5lbs), ATI video card; everything I need for Univeristy that starts this coming fall, as well as a video card for CS:S...

I'm just wondering if you think it would be wise to get it now at this price, because it might be harder to find by the end of summer. Or do you think it will be much easier to find, and maybe even at a lower price by the fall?

I don't really need the notebook now, but if this is a deal I can't pass-up, I'll take it. Another notebook that intersts me is the Asus W3V. Does anyone know what the retail price of this model will be? (in canadian $).

    Thanks!

What you're seeing is not a deal. It's the price that everyone is selling the high end model of the LM40. I don't think the price will drop for that unit...The model has being discontinued. I think you should look at the LM50...price are dropping like hell...back in febuary the price was 2799 and now 2399...it will keep dropping and it might be available in end of august...anyway...I'm waiting until august to get my LM70 or Lm50...I haven't decided yet...

I get you saw the price on notebookoutlet.ca???

Yeah... I've looked at other sites, and the lowest it's at is $2399, so to me, seeing that $1688 is quite a good deal. I'd really prefer a 14" screen, and one that's under $2000CDN. That notebook seems perfect for what I need, as I'll be walking up/down Mount Royal to get to my classes... hahaha. And the thing I like about LG is that they have the 3 year warranty included, and not an option that you have to pay an extra $200-300 for.

Anyways, I guess I'll wait till the end of the summer.
