    HI,

I am looking at S1 and P1, I prefer S1 but it cost alot more than P1 for the similar spec but without a video card. S1 really looks great.

Since I can only order the notebook online, I would like to know if the S1 or P1's screen are glossy finish. Cause the spec said is "fine bright", I don't know if this means glossy. Some review saying S1 is glossy and some said not glossy. So I am confused.

The 3rd option of mine is T1 which I can get with the slightly more expensive than P1, but it is only Core Duo not C2D and the slow harddrive. I would like to know if this CPU and slow harddrive is really that significant? I am mainly used it for programming some telecommunication product.

Thanks for your help and valuable time.

    Best Regards
    Ferdi

There isnt much of a performance difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo, but there is a noticable difference in number crunching, and Core 2 Duo supports 64-bit, which is advisable for future proofing your system. The hard drive speed difference between 7200RPM and 5400RPm is not too much, but stay away from 4200 RPM drives.

Yes, FineBright is LG's term for a glossy screen. The S1 comes in 2 models and they have different screens. The S1-P402A9 is the one with the Glossy screen and a resolution of 1280x800. The S1-M002A9 is the one with the non-glossy screen and a resolution of 1650x1080. The M002A9 also comes with 2 GB of RAM and a 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo, while the P402A9 comes with 1GB and a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo. :)
