I am looking to purchase the T1-7002A9
and just have a few questions for those who have purchased these laptops or had a chance to get your hands on one to play with.

The built in Intel 950GM 256mb is that shared memory or dedicated?

I know there was mention here that the R1 series laptops there was no way to decrease the amount of memory allocated to the video card. is this true for the T1 series laptops?

Also in the near future when Vista comes out I would like to upgrade to vista business. Will this comp have no problem running that?

I just would like to get as many peoples opinion on these questions before I decide to make my purchase.

This laptop will be strictly for travelling so a computer portable like the T1 series is right down my alley. I have no need for a fancy interface so therefore vista ultimate is of no interest for me.

Thank you very much for your help ladies and gentleman and will also like to thank Darren Hewer for his awesome review on the T1 laptop.

    It is shared memory.

I recently purchased this laptop, and am very happy with it so far. I liked that LG didn't have alot of junk software preinstalled. Norton was even included on a separate cd, so i didn't have to remove it. I really like the onscreen display they have included for volume/wifi/and other functions.

The only thing I would still like to do with this laptop is to find a way to get a DVI/HDMI output to connect to an HDTV (either a external dock or external GPU-like the one i just read ASUS is releasing soon).

shanx: what is the actuall battery life time you get on the laptop? the review on notbookreview.com doesnt specify that clearly (just estimated). I would like to know the maximum battery life with wifi-on, browsing the web constantly while listening to music and maybe some chatting.

and the hdd of only 4200rpm. is it noticable? does windows boot up slower than other laptops and does it effekt the start of programs or file transfering?

Can it play games like half-life 2, sim city 4, oblivion?

    Alfredo,

I haven't measured the battery life, but I can note this... with the brightness at 6 of 8 browsing the web (through wifi) and listening to music i have used the computer for about 3 hours and the battery manager still says it can run for approx an hour and a half. When the battery is full under the same conditions it says it had 4.5 - 5 hrs remaining. So based on that I have no reason to doubt it couldn't get well over 4 hrs battery life.

Sorry i can't give a more firm number, as most of the time we use it while plugged in.

    Shanx

Sorry.....I'm new to the site and just wanted to know experiences others had buying the T1-7002A9. Also........where does one get it repaired. I heard you had to send it back to LG? I called LG the other day and got disconnected four times. That worried me.

I have not had any problems yet, so do not know about support or if I will have to send it away. I have also heard that you have to send away for repairs. their website does not have a service center where i live, but if you check there may be one near you.
