    Hi,

According to cpu-z, my T5200 (1.6ghz) never reaches 100% usage, although I define in power options (Windows Vista, high performance) 99% on AC. I tried using at the same time several stress program like Ortho, vieving HD content, etc. and only I got 1.33 ghz tops. My BIOS (Phoenix) doesn´t have any options for power management and also nothing with Battery Miser. Any ideas? Or it is normal this "behavior"?

Is your computer plugged in when you do these tests? Intel autmatically underclocks the processor when the laptop is not plugged in inorder to decrease battery consumption.

Yes... the laptop is plugged. That´s the reason I want to get the best performance on AC...

Finally :D ...after several tries and combinations between Battery Miser and Vista Power Management I could set max performance to the processor. The solution? Turning off LG Battery Miser. For unknow reason, this program overrides any instruction at Vista Power Management, even itself, in the way to set 100% to cpu. I always set this number under AC. Now the laptop is faster in every way. I tested the cpu under cpu-z and Notebook Hardware Control and both programs gave the same result. I don`t know is this on LG control to keep the CPU safe... kind of weird isn`t? Maybe I will not have 100% control options like Battery Miser, but with Vista Power Management I have all the options I really need :)

    Man this is really interesting.
The only way I can max out my CPU is to run multiple programs at once. Shows 100% all the time. :)

Believe me... not only I tried several programs at once, also I ran 2/3 instances of cpu stress tests (Ortho), temp monitoring, DVD burning, hdd defrag  ... I could never reach more the 1.3Ghz eventually and on a regular basis the freq was between 800Mhz and 1066Mhz. Now the laptop runs like a champ... :D
