Hi I just bought a LG LW40 of my local University computer store.
I had speedfan installed on it because I felt the laptop was running hot.
Even when the computer was just idling the temperature shot up to 45 oC within 40 minutes. Is this normal? My computer temperature Temp1 is fine, is just the HDO hard-drive temperature shot up.
Any suggestion or ideas will be appreciated!
PS. I also turned off IP operator 2005 to save CPU processing - no luck!

That's fine, 40-50 is an average idling temperature.
Try undervolting the CPU using Notebook Hardware Control -
Thank you Coriolis! I called the LG tech support guy too and he said my laptop should run below 60oC. He said he is willing to give me a new hard-drive if needed be. I am going to let my LW 40 run idle for a lil bit and see if the temperature stabilize. As long as it's under 60 oC - I should be alright. do you think it is reallly the CPU even tho the HD0 temperature is high and not T1 and T2?
thanks in advanced! -
i have an LW40 w/x600.
after a bit of casual websurfing my current CPU temp is 43C and my HD temp is 38C.
install notebook hardware control, and uninstall battey miser pronto.
Please Help possible LG LW40 overheat? over 47 oC is it normal
