Hi guys, just got my P1 and I noticed some small white-brownish spots on my lcd (when it's on). At first I thought it was dust, but no matter how hard I'd try it wouldn't go away. Is this common with glare lcds or is mine a bad one? Any ideas? Thanks.

Any chance you could post some pictures, or just give a more detailed description? How big are the spots, where are they located, are they opaque or semi-transparent?

OK. The spots are transparent and noticeble when the windows is loading (black screen) and they are more or less all over the screen.

So does it appear to be the fault of stuck/dead pixels, or something on the surface of the LCD screen (like scratches or smudges)? I've never heard of anything quite like what you're describing. How big is each spot, and so you can't even see them against non-black backgrounds?

Yes Swatkins the spots are visible on one color backgrounds (not only black) and it's almost impossible to see them on multi-colored ones. I'm glad you say that you've never heard of something like that because there is a good chance it's not a defect. This very well could be smudges as you say (although I did try to wipe them with a cloth, maybe I'll try a wet one)because it is obvious my laptop was opened before, one reason for that is to add hebrew letters to the keyboard. The israeli technicians aren't very careful and there are alot of signs on this laptop. Everything here is more expensive and one would expect better quality for this. Thank you for your interest in resolving this issue.

Best of luck to you, my friend. Maybe try wiping down the screen with one of those microfiber cloths they make to clean camera lenses, glasses, etc. I would advise against actually wetting the screen, maybe just breathe on it lightly, then wipe it? I've dealt with some Israeli engineers that are very precise and diligent, sorry to hear you had a poor experience.

This are not smudges, nothing is visible when the laptop is off. Do you think that watching this type of screen (I mean a glare one) from a certain angle could create this effect?

Edit: Could it be light leakage?

Ive got a LG S1 which also has a glare lcd, and there is nothing of the sort your describing on it. Im sorry, but I think your lcd is a defect, would it be possible for you to take som fotos?

Bjuste, did you look at the screen from a 45deg angle?
It would be difficult to catch this on photo, but I'll try.

Ive looked from all angels, and the lcd looks the same.
Attached a photo to give you an idea of how my lcd looks. Its a bit dark, and the quality is not that great, but essentially the screen looks like this from whatever angle one looks from.

This is what I was talking about when I said that it could be difficult to see in a photo. I can't make anything from that pic and the spots (grey areas) are noticeable on one color background (black especially). Thank you and I hope you can take others.
