Hey everyone, I am looking into buying an LG-P1 series notebook. I really like the mixture of great design + performance. My only hesitation is that they are relatively unknown and it is hard to find an extensive review about the notebook. In addition, I would have very little support or warranty because I have to buy the notebook internationally, most likely from a canadian reseller, because LG doesn't sell in the U.S.

Basically, I just was wondering if anyone had any experience with LG notebooks and whether or not they are a good buy. You guys may remember me from my thread of Asus s96j vs MacBook pro and I feel like this LG is a good combination of both. It is cheaper than the macbook and has the same specs as I would have wanted in an s96j, while still looks great (plus it has a full sized keyboard).

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. I posted in here as opposed to the LG forum because I am hoping to get more widespread opinions.

although not the same as the p1, you should check out the lg s1 review to give you a general idea about it. i can't give you much info, unfortunately, b/c i haven't used an lg notebook, though it seems like its owners are fairly content with their products.

If you are going to go to the trouble of buying a computer that they dont distribute to the US check out Samsung and Fujitsu-Siemens (which are different than the Fujitsus they sell here) notebooks. They are also very attractive and powerful machines that are as good or better looking than the Mac Book Pro.

Been running an LG LM50a for almost two years. I use it, then put it to sleep only to awaken it later...and use it again. No major issues, beautiful machines, especially the more expensive models such as LM series with magnesium cases.
LG built for IBM for several cycles so they know how to do a nice build with great keyboards.
    Good luck in your search!
