    Hi,

I'm looking for a specific bios update version for LG X130, I've updated my bios using the.exe from LG's website from version 3f91 to 3G41 and now my WinXP crash with BSOD during startup...the LG's bios update tool didn't had a backup feature and it started the update without asking for any confirmation so I couldn't stop it from updating before I backup the old version first.

Anyone knows where I can find the bios version file 3F91 to restore the old bios? for some reason it's not in the site's download section and I can't find it anywhere, also, more preferably, anyone got a solution to the BSOD? the startup crash when trying to load "acpitabl.dat".

I found this post by homie_g:

I guess he might be able to help me, but I can't send him a PM because I don't have 5 posts yet...

    Thanks!

Hey Eyal, can you give me your full model number?

i am looking for the bios update i used. will post it here if i find it.

    __________

i did not find it but i managed to dig it out of the laptops system files. there are a bunch of different variations of the x130. i dont know if this bios is compatible with yours. unzip it and see what you need.

here is the link to download it

if you get an error about the battery (make sure it is charged more than %20) if it still gives you an error, follow the instructions on my old post you linked above.

    good luck!

    Hi homie_g!

I glad you noticed my post :)
Thank you for the file, I really appreciate the effort you took digging it out and uploading it, luckily, my problem was solved after taking a look at the Bios settings, Changing the setting of the HD controller from AHCI to IDE fixed the issue...(!)
However I still got use for your file, I might do another update, depends on what your answer will be to the following question, the reason I did the update was because i'm experiencing exactly the same problem this guy is experiencing here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/lg/498421-problem-my-lgx130-netbook.html
My x130 model is LA7W1E, you got any thoughts regarding this problem? At first I thought it was just a bad battery, but since the battery is relatively new and the notebook doesn't power on using the regular power button, I guess it might be a problem on the notebook itself, any thoughts? and thank you again for the file!

im glad you got it booting again.

as for the second issue, it seems like this is a bios issue. I would update either using the file i gave you (assuming the model you have is compatible, i dont know if it is. I would assume it wont let you run if it is not compatible. However, LG's support is horrible so it might let you use it regardless. So use the files i gave you at your own risk!)

I would find a way to updated your bios. Maybe try finding LG's intelligent updater software and use that to download the latest bios. I found a link on this thread. I would look there first.

    Good luck!

Yea, I thought it was a bios issue too, that's why I updated it, but unfortunately it didn't help, maybe the problem is in the power/charging circuit itself...I installed LG's intelligent updater, but it doesn't give me any bios update, only software :(

I hope i'll find a fix, but either way, really thanks for your help! :)
