    Hi guys,

Yesterday I received by new LG LS50-H13A, and it's an absolute stunner! I mean this laptop is one sexy looking machine, it's sleek, it's thin, it's light and it's bright [ :D]

The specs to my notebook is as follow:
    - Display: 15" SXGA(1400 x 1050)
    - CPU: Intel® Pentium® M 1.8GHz
    - Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
    - Video Memory: 128MB
    - Resolution: 15'inch SXGA(1400 x 1050)
    - Memory: 1024MB (DDR 333MHz)
    - HDD: 80GB
    - ODD: DVD±RW
    - Wireless: Intel Pro/ Wireless Mini LAN Card 802.11b/g(Mini-PCI)
    - PC Card: Type I or Type II
    - Multi-card Reader
    - Pointing/KBD: Touchpad with 2 buttons / 86 Keys
    - OS: Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Edition

It's the only laptop that comes closest to my criteria, which is a fast CPU, huge RAM, and a dedicated video card. I didn't really care about HDD size or speed all that much, and I didn't even think about wanting a DVD writer, so they're just bonuses for me. The only criteria it didn't really fit was my preferred size of wide 13"-14"inch screen, but i'm happy with my SXGA screen [ :D]

Well, I've only been using it for a day or two, and it's great to be surfing the Internet wirelessly.[8D]
Besides that, I haven't played any games, or done any benchmarking on it, but i hope to do that in the next few days.

I'll let you guys know if I come across any issues with my NEW laptop, which i'm very happy about !! [ :D]

I absolutely agree, LG is the best unit I've ever had the pleasure of operating.

Clearday - Looking at your specs, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impress, but how a notebook looks outside is just as important as the inside for me, and the LG notebook looks gorgeous, plus it's thin and light. [8D]

ennoia - I'm not very good with writing reviews, and I'm not sure if I've got the time for one, but I'm more then happy to answer any questions. [ :D]

bblue, where did you buy your H13A from. The specs on the lge.com.au web site says it has only 64MB video and the online store I am lookig at also says only 64 MB video, but you got 1 with 128MB.

    Clearday?

With a pig of a processor, the standard pentium.(not centrino!)

I would bet your battery only lasts an hour,
the laptop is really heavy, really warm, and more of a desktop than a laptop.

Not arguing that the specs arent better, just a different type of laptop.

This looks to me to be more like the spec for an LS50-8 than an LS50-H13A.

    LS50-8
    Video Memory: 128MB
    ODD: DVD +- RW
    Memory: 1024MB (DDR 333MHz)

    LS50-H13A
    Video Memory: 64MB
    ODD: DVD Super Multi
    Memory: 1024MB

All according to LG's web site (www.lge.com.au)

    Am I missing something?

I also got this laptop...excellent! Yes it is 64mb of video memory. Battery life has been excellent and the wireless range is impressive, better than my "old" netgear 802.11g (super 108mb thingy) pcmcia card. The screen is magnificent...absolutely superb. The viewing angle is over 140 degrees horizontally and very good vertically too. There is pretty much no reflection too and it's plenty bright.

The synaptics touchpad is excellent, unlike most others it is highly customisable. I have so that horizontal and vertical scrolling is enabled and that the 4 corners have specific functions (e.g. top right is maximise screen, bottom right is minimise, bottom left is start button, etc.).

My only gripe is with the hard drive...it's a 4200rpm model. a 5400rpm one would have much better suited the lappy. In general use though it is responsive enough. But this machine comes highly recommended!
