Recently got a LG Z1-A7FNV Express Dual - Core Duo T2350 1.73 GHz - 12.1" TFT, but I am having some weird troubles with the clock.

Whenever the computer is turned off, the clock is paused. So if I turn it off at lets say 08.30, and switch it back on at 10:15, the clock starts from 08:30, as if the clock has been on hold while the PC is off.

Another problem is whenever my computer has been running for 1 hr, the clock goes back 1 hrs. So if i turn the PC on at lets say 10:15, whenever the clock gets to 11:15 it just goes back to 10:15.

Ive looked in the BIOS and the clock in the BIOS stands still aswell. So if I enter the bios at lets say 11:30:24 (HH:MM:SS), then it will stand there until I quit the BIOS again. I even change "tabs" within the BIOS and the clock hasnt moved.

Is this a dead bios-battery problem? Can I change the bios-battery myself (or at least test it), without breaking any warranty?

I have shipped an email to the store where I bought the laptop, I just figured I make a thread here aswell, perhaps someone else have had the same problems etc.

This is the big question: does your laptop remember other BIOS settings that you change? If no, then your CMOS battery is most likely dead and needs replacing. If yes, then something else is screwy.

Usually, that battery's pretty deep into the notebooks. You might need to get it serviced to keep the warranty intact, but you should ask a tech about it...I could definitely be wrong. Whatever they say, just get in writing (like an email or chat session you can save).

Ive been away for a few days, but I got an answer to the email I sent and they just gave me a phonenumber to contact, so I will call them tomorrow and ask them.

The BIOS does remember changes I make, such as boot-order or just random independent settings, but the clock is very screwy.
