I've had an LG LW60-DBJA notebook for 2+ years running XP-SP2 and previously had no problems with wireless connectivity. Recently however I have been unable to even see any wireless networks.

When I refresh in IP Operator it doesn't see any networks - even when I know networks are there. I've also tried disabling IP Op and searching via the Windows Wireless Connections page so I know it's not an IP Op problem.

I notice that the blue wireless network light next to the power on/off switch is no longer lit. It all just seems like the wireless card has died on me...

Here's a few things I've tried to try to isolate the problem:

    - switching off my firewall
    - changing power save options
    - making sure that the wireless network connection is enabled in the Network Connections screen.
    - checking the device managers page - windows is reporting that the wireless adaptor is operating normally.

Any help that you can give me with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    GLR

have you reset the wireless modem or router ?

you could try and re-load the drivers for your card.
or you could try and restart windows wireless zero configuration in service's.thats the easy steps sorted

    good luck

    Hi Hoggie

Thanks for the advice. In the end it was a simple solution to a stupid problem. I'd recently installed the software for a wireless keyboard and that had take over the Function key controls. This seemed to be blocking the F6 wireless radio on/off toggle (which I thought I'd never used...)

I was able to take back the Fn keys and lo and behold my wireless connectivity was re-established.

Sorry to have bothered you with such a no-brainer problem

    Cheers
