I was looking at the two, and besides the difference in ram, screen size, and the like what... 0.4kg? weight difference, is there any difference in the two? the prices are relatively similar...

    LG xNote LM70-PKMU1
    LM70 Pentium M 750, 512MB DDR2 533MHz, 80GB SATA, 15" SXGA+, ATi Radeon x600 128MB, 802.11b+g, XP Pro, DVDRW

    LG xNote LW70-P5X6CU1
    LW70 Pentium M 750, 1024MB DDR2 533MHz, 80GB PATA, 17" WSXGA+ (glare), ATi Radeon x600 128MB, 802.11b+g, XP Pro, DVDRW.

and as well, does anyone know if LG in canada allow us to customize the laptops like how ibm does? like... adding in additional ram, a better processor, and changing those ugly PATA drives to SATA instead? I've seen some posts about customization in other countries, but in toronto (particularly futureshop and lgstore) i don't really notice any editable features... ~_~

the Lm70 has better resolution...better screen (IPS)...Looks better more professional...as for custumization...you can't really. There is only 2 models for Canada...both are identical except for video card (64mb/128mb)...You can upgrade ram, hd, mini pci card, battery...and that stops there. As for Ram...I would be cautious, is the machine designed to run dual chanel on 2 piece of ram or one...(refer to Tomshardware)...But overall, if price is not an issue go for LM70!!! Unless you like glossy/glare screen...

hmm...with the upgrades though, would LG do it for you for a nominal fee like how IBM/Lenovo does, or are we left to our own devices?

and is it really worth getting a LM70 for the looks of it (and a more 3rd party viewable screen?), when you're losing the slightly better speakers + remote control, IR I/O, instant music/dvd of the LW70? though I must say, the reduced size and weight is greatly appealing...

and does LG canada give out those free bluetooth dongles that everyone's been complaining about? or is that restricted to outside NA?

    thanks :)
