Love my lw70, but over the last month i've had the notebook, gradually dark scuffs seem to be appearing under the touchpad, and subsequently on the top of the screen border. There are other areas as well, where it seems that when the lid is closed, the two surfaces rub together. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, is there a particular solution that you've used to maybe bring the silver finish back to life.

Yep your not the only one with the scuff marks. Nothing much you can do about its just a wear and tear thing. When cleaning my laptop i generally just use warm water and micro fiber cloth. Does the job fine. Nothing you can really do about the scratches because its a scratch and the only thing u can do is probly use silver touch up paint.

    Hi there,

I've bought a "special" laptop micro fiber cloth which is cut to the size of the laptop and I always put it on the keyboard before I close the lid. That way the two surfaces don't rub together. Hope it helps..

Hmmm...the LW 70 I have here came with a very thin pad that is not quite the size of the keyboard. When I unpacked it, the pad was inside the laptop (with the lid down). Perhaps this is LG's way of correcting for the problem. Did you get one of these???

Well it not actually a "pad" I've bought mine from Radtech but I guess any thin microfiber cloth would do the job. But I don't think I can do without it, no scuff marks whatsover

I have had this exact problem also.

I have stuck a couple of small soft foam pads next to the latches to stop it from rubbing when closed.
