    Hi all,

What ram comes in the LW70's that have 512Mb?

Is it one stick of 512, or two 256's?

CPU-Z says its just got one stick of 512, but i want to be sure before ordering more ram to take me to 1Gb.

    Thanks.

Why dont u take the cover off and check How many sticks you have. I would think the LW70 would come with 2X 256MB if its a 512MB Factory Configuration. Anyways Best thing to do is a rip open the cover and check...... Cheers

I am a little hesitant to pull the laptop apart when its so new.
I dont want to find somthing wrong then find out ive voided the warranty and cant get it replaced/fixed.

Oh... unless its the slot next to the wireless card under the small removable plate on the back.
If it is, then thats empty.

I had 512 in the one I bought and upgraded it to 1GB, crashed all the time.

The company I bought it from put Corsair in it and it hated it. Ended up, they had to use Kingston in it, and it now works a treat. They tld me the original was Samsung memory.

CPU-X says the original in mine is "Hyundai Electronics".

Ive ordered another stick of 512.
Not sure what brand itll be yet... just its what the LG wholesaler recommends.

Unmatched second sticks can cause problems in these dual-controller chipsets.

I myself own a computer business, I dont recommend users to upgrade ram with two different brands of ram, as this just makes the situation more complex. I'm not saying it cant be done but sometimes its better to go with a matching pair.
