Will try to summarize as best I can.

Bought my LW20 "Express" outside USA about 10 months ago. Other than a couple of sticky keys it worked fine until today.

When I turned it on, using wall power as normal, the screen was/is extremely dim. Went thru all normal procedures - power off, restart, battery out/in, different settings on the "power miser" program, etc. All to no avail.

It charges battery OK, but here's the odd thing. When I disconnect AC power and run it off battery the screen brightens to its normal level -- but still not to level of using AC, of course.

Shot a message off to LG Electronics USA, but so far no answer. Does anyone in the forum have a suggestion? Will be most grateful if you can help me fix the problem. Hair is falling out in clumps!

Have to apologize for raising an alarm too soon. Finally got the screen brightness in hand by fiddling with the "monitor" setting under battery miser program. What's still a mystery, though, is how the setting was changed in first place. Oh, well, all's well that ends well, not to coin a phrase.

It seems that you might have an issue with your battery miser setting for when you are plugged in.

Click on the battery miser icon in your tool tray (bottom right corner looks like 3 circle pyramid) and under power schemes under monitor and AC mode make sure that you have the screen set to longer than 1 minute.

I guess I was just a little slow in answering. :)
