I decided to buy this laptop:

    LS55A38Z
    LS55 Intel® Pentium® M 740 1.73 533FSB 2048K Processor Intel® 915PM Chipset,ATI® RADEON* X300 64MB Graphics 15" XGA 1024x768 TFT LCD,2 x 256MB DDR333 SO-DIMM 60GB 4200RPM HDD,DVD Super Multi Writer,SD Card,PCMCIA, 3 USB,1394A,VGA,S-Video,Parallel Port,10/100 LAN 56K Modem Intel® Wireless LAN 802.11b/g Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS COMPUTER?
The only thing which worries me is the memory. Its speed is only 333MHz while the bus runs at 533MHz. Is it going to reduce the performance? Or it is acceptable?
Has anybody experience with Linux on this machine?
I would appreciate any information or any experience concerning this model.
    THANK YOU!

    hi Ritika,
I have the same laptop. This is a really wonderful laptop. I bought it from dubai for 46300 rs in indian currency. What rate are you getting there now? The performance of the laptop is excellent and the looks are also very good. The thing by which I am really impressed and that makes really difference is the battery backup. Its around 5 hrs at the default power scheme. My cousin brother has Toshiba M300 which has ULV processor (1.2 GHz). It also gives the same battery backup. The keys are well placed and my typing speed is increased to double then on my desktop. Sound and Heat are non-existant. The only problem with this laptop is that the speakers are at the front end and facing downwards. so the sound really suffers. you cant watch a movie or enjoy music keeping this laptop in your lap. Another thing is the lack of inbuilt bluetooth in it. I dont understand why LG makes laptops with out inbuilt bluetooth. Though a Bluetooth dongle comes with the laptop but it is of only 1 MBPS.

what's the price? In USD dollars?

anyways you should fill out the FAQ in the general forums, so we can suggest a notebook for you.

but since you have chosen a 15" notebook with a discrete GPU, i can suggest look at the V6J and V6va their price is roughly $1900-2100 USD

The specs are much better than this LG model. THe build quality is amazing on this model.

If your looking for a cheaper alternative, i highly suggest you fill out the FAQ so we can help you.

    Also where are you located?

    Thanks,
