    G'day.
I was hoping someone would be able to tell me if it is possible to upgrade the CPU (Currently a Pentium M 1.6ghz 512mb RAM) to something more significant.
If so, is it a matter of pulling the laptop apart, or just a one-panel off kind of job.
Also, is it DIY or will it require a professional to install it?
    Thanks in advance.

Upgrading the RAM to 1GB will see a big boost in performance without voiding your warranty. This upgrade is just a matter of removing a back panel and sliding a chip into a slot. The CPU is another story. You could probably upgrade all the way to the 2.16GHz Pentium M, if your model supports such clock speeds, but in order to get at it you pretty much have to take the laptop apart, and you might void your warranty, depending on the arrangement under which you purchased the unit.. It's not complicated IF you're organized and you have some kind of internet guide at hand w/ visuals. Also, applying Arctic Silver to the CPU will make a noticable difference in how hot your computer runs.
