    Hey,

I am new here but been anonymously reading reviews and members' feedback about LG units. I am looking for a unit that can do general tasks and some modelling works and simulations. I want to know if this unit can provide me just that.

I notice there isn't bluetooth for LG units, I want to know how big is this. For me personally I don't really have much gadget that have blue tooth, but I will be moving to japan for some time and I am guessing there could be more bluetooth application.

I don't play games so the 32 vram ati should be adaquate, plus i don't think there is a 64mb version LM40.

Screen, I personally would want the wxga the LM50 offer and the new Express models but i have a limited budget.

Hard drive rpm-From what I have been reading, there are people claiming 4200 and 5400. I call the guy at the store, he told me is 5400 but I am in doubt. Anyone know more to this. (I prefer the 5400)

I like the mg / carbon fibre chasis

I will most likely gonna go w/ the M715; again, due to limited budget if i was to buy one.

Will the warrenty work if i am japan?

Lastly, how does LG built compare to other brand like HP nc6000, asus.

I appreciate any feedback . I am sure many of you have been in this kind of struggle. [ :p]

Bluetooth won't be a big thing unless u plan on getting other bluetooth wireless products like a cellphone/PDA for transferring data. IMO Bluetooth is more of a luxury than anything.

As long as it has some sort of dedicated memory then it's much better than Intel integrated graphics. As for whether it'll be sufficient for modelling/simluations I have no idea...

I would think that the HD would be 4200 rpm but it's possible it could be 5400.

LG's warranties are international apparently so it should work in Japan.

I like LG mostbly because you get quite a lot for a great price. They make amazing LCD monitors so their laptop LCDs have to be good. I've had a few of their new products and none of them have failed on me yet. So that's my reason for getting the LG... I plan on getting the LM60 as soon as it is out since I don't need something immediately. :)

    Cheers!
