The p300 at future shop comes with a 1yr LG warranty, does anyone know if it's possible to purchase an extended warranty from LG?

Or do people usually go with the future shop product service plan? What is your experience with these services?

Oh and also, I know VISA will double your warranty... does that apply to the future shop warranty as well?

I also bought an LG laptop from Futureshop and I contacted LG Canada about an extended warranty from them as opposed to Futureshop (since I prefer manufacturer warranty) and they told me they do not provide extended warranty and they said I would have to get the warranty from Futureshop.

But this was LG Canada and they said no, but once I called late at night and got transferred to the American call centre and they said the same thing.

is the LG warranty worldwide warranty? i ask because although i can get the p300 in canada (where i live) i'm in singapore and it is cheaper here, so if it is worldwide warranty then i'm just going to get it here instead

nice to see some P300 fans here, we take a beating over in the Sony forums, LOL ...

I like my P300 no buyers remorse except 'everyone' especially here in the forums if you read my prior posts strongly suggests spending $400 more and getting the Sony Z ...

there is differences, I know the Z has a good durable case and frame, but side by side it doesn't blow the P300 out of the water ... or does it, LOL. ...

im curious about the visa warranty too. i cut a deal with the futureshop guy and got 3 years for 300 bucks. but still, if LG covers one year, and since i bought it on visa i get another year, that means im paying 300 for 1 year ... which is ridiculous. Does anyone know the VISA terms? Because if they do double the warranty and give a 90 days of accidental coverage too, then im gonna return the 3 year warranty.

here is what visa has on their website:

As an RBC Royal Bank Visa Business cardholder, you'll receive the following built-in security and protection:

Purchase Security3 protects eligible business purchases charged to your Visa Business card against theft, loss or damage for 90 days from the day you buy them.
Extended Warranty3 doubles the manufacturer's original Canadian warranty by up to one additional year, to a total maximum of 5 years. This valuable coverage protects all eligible business items that are purchased on your Visa Business card
