Hi, I have asked in the ‘What laptop to buy’ section about getting a new laptop, I am not wealthy enough to get the T1 (nice review btw), rather, my budget is $AU 1000, I have seen the LG K1 express here in Melbourne (Australia), going for $999, with Celeron 1.5, 256 RAM, 40GB and wireless. These features sounds basic, but trust me if u have been using a FOSA Celeron 433 for the last 7 years, its dam good! :> I am just a bit sceptical about LG’s built quality, as they ain’t exactly the ‘Largest’ computer company with years of experience.

I don’t really like Acer, Compaq, NEC, Sony, and AMD because I have had bad computing experience with them! LoL

I am only planning to use my laptop to do uni work; I have a desktop for everything else, (storage, DVD burning, GAMES! Etc…..).

    Any comments would be appreciated
    Thanks
    hollis

The T1 would not do you any good anyway with its intel vga. I wouldn't recommend a celeron all together, but getting an LG is a great choice. Have you checked out the M1 or P1? If those are to pricey, the older LW is probably a great choice. It's what got me into buying an LG in the first place after excellent reviews.

I have an S1 and my experience hasn't been very good.

In the top, assuming the laptop is closed, where the LG logo sits, there's a small hole, big enough to see the light from the screen... Not very professional IMO. Some friends ask me if that's a "feature", lol

The power plug, when connected and when touched makes a loud "click clack", I'm afraid to touch cause it looks very fragille, and that's in a very problematic motherboard place. I've seen several laptops with power connectors broken...

Also I'm having several sound issues, but that, ok, can happen with every other brand... sending to repair.

Had an Acer before (which has a not so good reputation) but never had ANY problems...

Odd, I'm actually the reverse of you. I had an Acer 2012 and had a tonne of problems, and the overall feel of the laptop was cheap (although it did pack a lot of power for the time). I'm currently using an S1 P3B3A and couldn't be happier.. The only problem I have with mine is my fan sometimes makes an odd clicking noise but it goes away after a while. Aside from that, I don't have any of the other problems listed.

    lemon!!!

Then again LG isn't that big of a name in notebooks, as they're (imo) more of a screen company.
