    LG S1-PDGCG: "knock" sound from fan or what?!

    Hi,
    i am owner of three s1-pdgcg. thats the one with the x1600, 2 gb memory, 2 ghz core duo.

    Well ALL THREE make such a "knock" sound sometimes. it comes from beneath the keyboard, you can feel it on your left hand when touching the notebook, it repeats up to 4 times, but that varies.

    so at first i thought mine was defective, but as i used the other two notebooks i noticed, that they make the same thing. most of the times it is happening after heavy harddisk action. so i went to the store and was able to test some more books for this disturbing (but very very silent and hard to notice... but you know... once you know it, you hear it every time) sound and vibration. all of them did it... so im not worried about a defect anymore, but i want to know, what it is?

    can anyone tell?

    (p.s.: happens under xp also as in vista without or with drivers... i think its hardware related.)

    The only sound I hear from my LG S1-MAN3E1 is coming from the hard disk when it spins on heavy loads and I think it’s normal with 160GB drive…..

    no sorry, i dont mean that. and i think its special for the s1-pdgcg, because only they have that.

    does anyone else know about this knock sound sometimes?

    you can really feel it.

    it feels like when you have your hand on a table and a small coin...penny or something falls on the table (not your hand)
    you feel the vibrance

    ... sorry had a few absinth to much..... but im serious about this thing.

    absinth is evil....

    Really no ideas on that? can anyone confirm that behaviour? i have testet 6 units so far, but theyre all here in germany.maybe that differs ?!

    Mmm thats weird, I really can't notice any vibrancy nor a strange sound, I can only hear the left fan and as bo3adsa said, the hard disk on heavy loads.
