Hi everyone. Im just here because i have been deciding on buying a laptop for quite a while, but i've just been stumbling here and there.Since this is my first laptop purchase, and it'd probably last me for 2 years then i'd want one with okay-specs. The machine that im looking at is actually the LG S1 and it suits most of the needs that i..need. Firstly, the processor is great since its 2.0 Ghz and its not that much off from the Santa Rosa platforms, and the vid card (x1600) is pretty good since i do some moderate gaming from time to time. I won't like the series 8 cards just because they have direct X10, and i just think that DX10 wont be absoloutely necessary until 2-3 years later. Finally i was just wondering if anyone is expecting LG to make an updated model of the S1 with something like onboard webcams and such that is NOT the santa rosa platform? Any info would be great! thank you for your help!

If you take a look at the thread with the new Santa Rosa LG laptops *apparently* they will not be upgrading the older models with it. I don't know if they would be doing anything with older models such as including a webcam. As far I've seen in LG models development history that's not a likely change. Of course, that's the impression I get. I could be wrong. :)
