Hi, i have LG S1 Express Dual P112-B (bought in Spain).
It's suposed to support 2x2GB DDR2-667; but BIOS only recognized me 3280Mb; i suposed that with a BIOS update it will work, but i couldn't find it.

    Any solution?

    Thank you

I've been talking about the same issues since I upgraded my harddrive and it won't work properly either. The only solution is to call LG, and then bring your laptop into the service centre for them to upgrade the bios for you. They refuse to hand out the bios to anyone.

What operating system are you running? 32-bit OS's can only use about 3GB of RAM. You have to have a 64-bit OS to fully use the 4GB.

Well I recently have come to a similar problem but regarding a 200GB Drive. I found that Phoenix authorized BIOS update to eSupport.com After a quick scan here: http://scan.esupport.com/?r=29&CFID=2225571&CFTOKEN=31946287
They tell you they have a new BIOS for you at around 30 USD. I haven't done it my self but it seems an option to consider. Anyhow, th scan in my computer shows a maximum upgrade for RAM of 3 GB. If anyone follows this procedure, please let us know. If I do it in the future I will post it.

    Hello!

I followed the procedure on eSupport.com to get a new BIOS for my LG S1 MDGCG (Express Dual).
The main reason was to upgrade the small hd to a 250GB model.
After paying the 30 USD via VISA it took hmm i guess some days.
Don't know any more, it was some time in summer last year.

Their answer was, there is no new BIOS for this notebook.
So after a couple days the money came back and I'm running on a 120GB drive since then. The 250GB drive is used as a backup drive now, but I'm really looking forward to use in the future ;)

The only thing i can say for now is, I won't buy a LG notebook again.
Not because of bad hardware or something like that, but simply because of the really bad support.

besides the BIOS update that obviously doesn't exist, I'm getting almos 30% of my drivers not updates, although I just reinstalled Vista with fresh new drivers from LG site (I verified with Intelligent Update)
