    LG S1 CPU speed is at 900mhz... never above..

    i have the S1 notebook with the 7200 memrom intel cpu which runs at 2.0ghz..

    with the battery removed and just the power cord my cpu speed never goes beyond 999mhz

    this is running windows vista.. what can i do?

    The Core 2 Duo CPU reduces the clock speed to reduce the power consumption. Nothing is wrong since the clock will return to 2.0GHz when the computing power is needed.
    Try opening the CPU-Z (for a real-time status of your CPU speed) and then run an intensive program.

    What program did you use to get the result? If you installed a power management software like NHC or CPU-Z, sometimes they underclock CPU to save power. Vista does this too. There is nothing wrong and is actually a feature called StepSpeed
