I am considering purchasing a LG before school starts in September. I have been trying to find any retailers in the Vancouver, BC area (or suburbs) that carry LG notebooks but have not had any success so far. Does anybody know of some?

I bought my S1 through a small mom and pop store called Code II Computing (on Broadway and Manitoba). They were fabulous to deal with, the owner even aranged a courier to get the model from the distributor the same afternoon I called. Sadly they don't have a web site, but if you like to support small retailers, they seem a good choice.

And wow 1625 for a8jm at computrack ... GOOD stuff...

But i'd still recommend getting from outta province if you wanan save money ...saving a FAT 7% off a $ 1.6k investment is like 102 bucks off!

sorry, WuHT, for the delay in getting back, busy week...

I paid a bit under 2400, so within range of most of the retailers listed, although that was knocked down for not using credit. Looking at the stores, Computrak has a really good price at a buck under 2300. I have to agree though, that if the shipping doesn't eat up the savings buying through a reatailer in Alberta would save you a nice chunk of taxes.

For me, I was in a desperate need to replace a dead desktop, and made my decision on who could get me the notebook the fastest. (Most retailers had a couple of days wait)

Yah, I know, $1625 for the A8Jm is a great price... I bought it a month ago for $1655, now I feel robbed, lol, j/k... meh $30 is not that big of a deal.

BTW, get a notebook cooler for all laptops IMHM, it's worth the extra $30 investment, especially in this type of hot weather...

Right now, I'm using my lappy at school (SFU) and the bottom and touchpad get noticeably warm running on AC WITHOUT a notebook cooler, but with one it's all good =D

Also having a notebook cooler is grt for gaming, keeps my nVidia 7600 from going over 60 deg even after Intense gaming sessions.

    Cheers! BTW< I want the new T1!!! =S
It's sooo light for a 14.1" widescreen lappy and thin too, but the only down-side is the 4200rpm HDD =(
