Question about the ability to install Turbo Memory on the LG P310 and also if anyways has noticed the benefit/improvements offered by Turbo memory.

From what I can tell the P310 in Canada does not come stock with Turbo Memory. That said it's cheap to buy the module. My question is:

    1. Is there an empty slot to install Turbo Memory on the P310? Has anyone tried? Can you do it without voiding the warranty?

    2. If you have installed it, have you noticed any improvement? Is it worth it given I already have 4 gigs of RAM? How does it perform with Windows ReadyDrive and Ready Boost?

In short, Robson memory is not worth it, delivering only marginal performance improvements. If you think of Robson memory working in tandem with the hard disk and RAM as analogous to a line of men passing buckets of water to each other, adding an old man (read: Robson memory) to the line does not help you move water (data) any faster. In fact, it introduces a bottleneck.

However, Turbo Memory 2.0 is supposed to deliver considerable performance improvements; this might be worth it if you Google for some benchmarks.

I've heard that if you have enough RAM in the first place, turbo memory does almost nothing. In most cases, 4GB of RAM is sufficient, so I doubt you will see an improvement in any circumstances.

In theory though, just check if your laptop has an empty mini-PCI express slot (the ones used in modern wifi, wimax, bluetooth cards). If it does, it should work...
