Having HDMI output on the LGP300 is great, however when I connected it to my 1080p HDTV, I couldn't choose a higher resolution than 1280x800.

I tried playing with all the options in the Windows display settings and the Nvidia control panel but it appeared limited to 1280x800 even though my TV supports 1920x1080 (I've tried with a desktop computer).

Of course I understand the laptop screen is limited to a max res of 1280x800. But I assumed that certainly the video card could output higher resolutions.

    Can the P300 output to 1920x1080 ?

Yes, it can. Did you set the tv as the extended desktop?

That was probably the issue, I remember now when it first loads up it prompts you if you want to clone or Extend. I chose clone. Makes sense that it doesn't allow you to use different resolutions then. Got me worried for a few moments.

For some reason i tried Avatar x264 1080p yesterday and it was very choppy and processor was at 99% !!!!!!

Is the P300 limited with some 1080p movie ? That's very weird. Is it because i havent configured well fddshow or something like that ?

    Thanks !

    First, what's your CPU?\

Uninstall all codec packs and then install the latest CCCP beta.
Then (if you're running Windows 7) put this file into the directory with CCCP's MPC-HC.exe in it. (generally C:\Program Files (x86)\Combined Community Codec Pack\MPC)
Then, open the movie in Start-> Combined.. -> Media Player Classic Homecinema.

h264 is very CPU heavy and poorly made so you may not be able to play it at such high resolutions.

Firstly, CPU usage will depend on the complexity/encoding settings of the video.

If my 2x1.66GHz GHz C2D can just play 1080p (no DXVA), then I would hope that you have your stuff configured correctly.

Hi namaiki ! Thanks for your reply ! Here are the spec of the processor !

    Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 (2.40GHz/ 800MHz Front Side Bus/ 3MB L2 cache)

I will try what you recommend and let you know ! Do you think it should work with the spec of the LG P300 ?

    Thanks a lot !
