Hi, this laptop has been announced 2 days ago. It has a IPS screen so all those not confident on the p330 coming with a IPS screen should be happy.

Unfortunetly it doesnt come with a dedicated gpu, but you cant have everything i guess :D

The LG P220 notebook will be available in Korea starting this month followed by European markets soon after.

If I can get this at a fair price(specially if it comes to Canada), this actually could be my next laptop.

What is the difference between the P210 and this?

It seems P210 uses old core i5 processors while P220 comes with new Sandybridge processor therefore a faster integrated graphic card. It also has a IPS screen, not sure if P210 comes with it though.

Looks like distribution will be to Korea and EU. Wonder how long it will take to expand beyond that.

Well I think the P210 and the larger P430(which is a SB model) just popped up in Canada, so maybe by later September, October time frame this will arrive there, so we in the states may get lucky and have a crack at getting one?

no usb3 by the looks of it. bit odd.
still holding out for the p330, hopefully they put in a higher res screen.
1366x768 is a good compromise for 12.5" though.

On the cons side, it's using a 4-cell li-po battery and if coupled with a full voltage cpu is going to have short battery life by ultraportable standards. No USB 3.0 and no expresscard slot means you're stuck with only the stock ports.

On the pros side, looks like the next most powerful/light system after the Sony Z2.

    Code:
    11.6" Samsung 9$	2.31lbs (1.05kgs). 0.65" thick.
    11.6" Macbook Air$	2.38lbs (1.08kgs). 0.64" thick. Thunderbolt port.
    11.6" Asus UX21$	2.40lbs (1.10kgs). 0.67" thick.
    13" Sony_Z2$ 2.60lbs (1.18kgs). 0.66" thick. 900P/1080P. Raid-0, Lightpeak port HD6650M.
    12.5" LG P220$ 2.86lbs (1.30kgs). 0.83" thick.
    13" Samsung 9$ 2.88lbs (1.31kgs). 0.64" thick.
    13" Macbook Air$	2.96lbs (1.35kgs). 0.68" thick. 900P 16:10. Thunderbolt port.
    12.1" Fujitsu P771	3.10lbs (1.41kgs). 1.18" thick. 1280x800 LCD.
    12.5" Lenovo X220$	3.20lbs (1.45kgs). 1.36" thick. IPS LCD option. mSATA.
    12.5" Lenovo E220s$	3.23lbs (1.47kgs). 0.85" thick. mSATA.
    13" Toshiba R835	3.26lbs (1.48kgs). 1.00" thick. NOTE: SATA-II capping.
    13" Toshiba R830	3.26lbs (1.48kgs). 1.00" thick. NOTE: SATA-II capping.
    12.1" Fujitsu P701$	3.30lbs (1.50kgs). 1.02" thick. 1280x800 LCD.
    12.5" Dell E6220$	3.50lbs (1.59kgs). 0.97" thick.

Should't that list the P220 as a 12.5in model not 11.6in? Kind of interesting that the P210, which just came out is using the first gen ULV i core cpu, while this P220 model(which looks the same) is using gen 2 full voltage i core cpu.

Ouch, maybe we will get lucky and the prices will be lower once it comes to Canada so we can maybe get a fairer price in the States?

WOW, that screen looks pretty amazing in those pics. What is the color gamut, and contrast ratio on this thing again?

I´ve to say in white it doesn´t appeal very much to me. I´d love to see the blue version with the black keyboard. But the sooner Ivy Bridge is on the horizon, the less I´m into this notebook. LG really needs to gain speed with releasing their announced notebooks (see P330 thread...).
