The new R500 (specifically the R500-UP75K) looks to be pretty much what I want for my next notebook (alternatives would be the Samsung X65 and Zepto 6625WD). However they don't seem to sell their notebooks in the UK :-(

Has anyone got any more info about buying LG notebooks in the UK - are there any importers, foreign exporters that are UK friendly, do LG do UK keyboards, or is it a lost cause?

    Thanks in Advance

    Jon

I don't know of anywhere in the UK that has sold LG notebooks. I have looked extensively. They currently seem to only target the Asian market, where they are pretty successful. From other sources, it seems the LG notebooks are pretty hard to find in Europe and the USA.

Your best bet is to get a independent IT store to import a model for you. I would say unless you're willing to pay a premium for a LG notebook, there are plenty of other options. Otherwise you could always go on "Holiday" to somewhere like Korea or Japan, where "Holiday" is codename for operation get an LG Notebook abroad whilst making it look like you are there to enjoy yourself :)

If the manufacturer doesn't seem keen to get the product to you as easily as possible, they usually aren't worth your time or money.

dr_jon, this shop sells the r500 in germany and maybe they will save you from going in the far east...

My advice is to check the warranty: does lg offer in uk the warranty on a model which they don't sell there?
I were also a bit interested in lg notebooks but, as you, i live in a place where lg don't sells its newest notebooks.

I don't think there are any UK based LG dealers.
