    Hi All,
I recently purchased an LG LS50-2 laptop. I already had a sony laptop, but when I saw this beautiful (very slim and light) machine, I couldn't help myself. First Impressions: This is the quiestest laptop that I have ever owned (or seen!). You cannot hear it when it is switched on, you cannot even hear the HDD when is is heavily loading something. The screen is very bright, infact it is brighter than the screen on a sony TR with the "xbrite" technology (I had them side by side) Fan noise is non-existant. Setup is an absolute breeze with the supplied CD, and the performance on this thing is very very quick and responsive. It only has a ATI Radeon 9200 with 32mb of ram, but I was running Doom III in 1024 x 768 with all details turned to high, and it wasn't lagging... I couldn't understand why it was running so well, when my desktop with a 128mb 9200 only ran at 640 x 480!. In terms of price, I picked it up for $AU1700 which is an absolute bargin. The build quality is extremely firm and tight and the keyboard feels very nice to use. I guess, I just wanna say if you are thinking of getting an LG, I would highly recommend it. Even though they are not a big name in laptops, they soon will be!!!!...

    Hi,

I was on the brink of purchasing an LG LS50-2 but the best price I found was $AU1950 - Whereabouts did you get it for $AU1700 - and was that with 256Mb Ram?

I'll have mine in a few days - hopefully by friday, I'll do a review and take some pics.

If you are buying in canada, these guys are the guys to go with:

    http://www.onlineelectronicsinc.com/

They are the same people who run lgstore.ca which provides a good list of their inventory, but the lgstore site has outdated prices.. I'd recommend calling or emailing them (contact info on the onlineelectronicsinc.com site)

I've been dealing with these guys for the last week, they have been very helpful - they were the guys who installed linux on one of the notebooks for me to see if it works. I asked about dead pixels and was assured that he's never seen dead pixels on a LG, and if there were any after purchasing, it would be taken care of and replaced.

The LG LM notebooks come with a 3 year warranty from LG, the LS comes with a 1 year. I think the warranty includes the battery, but I have to double check... that might only be for their tablet pc's.
